About Me
Hi! I’m Taylor Welsch.
I used to be a big city gal until recently, I reclaimed my love of the outdoors + adventure and embraced a very different life outside of concrete jungle. I enjoy trying new things and I’m usually up for a challenge. I have a love-hate relationship with the self-care movement. The “take more bubble baths and get more massages” is what I hold a grudge with. The focus on daily activities that make people a better, calmer version of themselves I’m super into. Things like breath work, gratitude, getting outside, journaling, meditation, movement. This makes me sound pretty “rah-rah” and potentially cheesy, I promise I have a bit of an edge to me as well.
How am I qualified to help you? Simply put, I’ve been there. There’s no doubt our experiences and path through this will be different, but I can understand it from the place of someone who’s been there too. I get it. Through my own work I’ve ditched the overwhelm, guilt + people pleasing and have come to embrace I don’t have to take on every request that comes my way.
I work with people who have these same tendencies, who are struggling to decipher which identities or roles they love and which they can let go of to relax and free up more time for themselves. I promise you can feel lighter (you can actually feel the metaphorical weight leave your shoulders), freer and a lot less hectic.
I work best with people who know it will be hard, but are willing to put in the work to get to the better part. I can’t change you, this is on you, but I will be there to help you through it. I know you can get there. This may make it sound like counseling will be hard, uncomfortable and not fun. While it may be all of that at times, there’s also a lighter side people may not be aware of. Sometimes during our sessions we may even laugh and have fun some.
As for my credentials, I have my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. This is my second career, I was in HR in accounting and finance before going back to school.
